You may be wondering where I’ve been (or maybe not) so I’m going to tell you. After eight years of moving all over the country to play soccer, our longing to settle down closer to home and family finally won out. The birth of my sweet son, Declan (who was born on April 11, 2014), and my wife landing a once-in a-lifetime job opportunity working with her twin sister for the greatest creative marketing agency around (Angel Oak Creative, duh!) both had lots to do with it. So we’re officially back in good ole’ Raleigh, N.C. for good and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be home! HALLELUJAH!
Now that we’re staying put in one place for an indefinite period of time, I am ready (and super pumped) to place a ton more focus on building my sports ministry, Wells Thompson Soccer. Jesus has redeemed soccer in my life (check out my story) and continues to fuel the fire in my soul to use my passions for Him and soccer through coaching, mentoring, giving back and loving all He puts in my path.
But this ain’t about Wells Thompson so don’t let the name fool you. I’m just the face, the vessel, the conduit to help point others to Jesus Christ. [tweetthis remove_url=”true”]My longtime prayer has been that I would decrease, so Jesus would increase (John 3:30) even when I didn’t know it. This aint about me; it’s all about him! – @WellsThompson[/tweetthis]
It’s like this, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me“(Galatians 2:20).
The Cross is at the center of everything we do! It provides the framework for our mission and vision and, in case you haven’t noticed, it’s at the very center of our logo. Pretty cool huh?!?
Wells Thompson Soccer is ready to take the Triangle by storm!
